Definition of the difference between climate and weather:
Climate: It is the state of the weather in a long period of time, which may be a week, a month, six or several years in terms of temperature, atmospheric pressure, the type of wind that blows over the place, the amount of humidity and the amount of rain falling.
As for the weather: it is the state of the weather for a short period, which may be within minutes, hours, or a specific day in terms of climate elements.
Also in terms of area, the climate covers a vast area, while the weather covers small areas.
Monsoons and rain clouds
The wisdom of the ancient farmers is shown in the accuracy of the times and knowledge of the weather conditions, as they summarize the geographical base that summer rains come from the west and are geographically called local rains for their lack, while the autumn rains come from the east comprehensively and completely and geographically called India's seasonal depression, clouds are heavy with dense water vapor, which results in its rain. Abundant and sweeping of a wide area, they have formulated their experience in proverbs about the direction of the context of summer and autumn rain and to come.
The period of summer rains starts from mid-March and ends in April. Otherwise, it is considered rare and uncompromising in the central and eastern highlands, while it continues from time to time in the moderate western highlands in some years.
The late father Muhammad Ali Al-Akwa mentioned in his book Page from Yemen's Social History, on agriculture in Yemen, especially in Ibb Governorate, where he said:
Cultivation seasons are more than festivals and greater than weddings, as Yemen is not like other countries, such as Iraq, Syria, and Egypt. It depends on rivers, but rather relies on rains in limited seasons and known amounts. If the sky is good, the earth is generous, and vice versa. If the sky is good, it is their greatest feast and their greatest livelihood. The sky is your provision and what you promise.
The first agricultural festival is the rainfall, and it is a general feast for people and for all the animals and insects of the earth and for weeds and plants. Hearts live and inanimate objects live the Sunnah of God Almighty in creation, and his Sunnah will not be replaced.
He also mentioned that agriculture, cultivation, or pastoralism, in particular in the succession of Ja`far, the green region (Ibb), occupies the fore and supreme position because it is under the udder of heaven, and this is why Al-Yaman Al-Hamdani said in Damagh and its interpretation:
And what happens to the airspace are people besides us who are up to the rescue and our accusers
He wants the udder of clouds, which is the sky that does not fail, because in Yemen there is a country that is not separated by rain throughout the year, which is the desert and what is close to it. Some of the inhabitants of that country said:
We lived on a land that every morning rotated the udders of heaven
And in the rest of Yemen, its rain at a known time is not forbidden to them at its time, and whatever it is, agriculture is the lifeblood of life, and in the city of Ibb in particular, agriculture does not leave one of the people who is poor or rich, but rarely, knowing or ignorant, because of the great goodness and comprehensive blessing they receive.
So love is the strength of the body and the sheriff, fodder for sheep, cows, and reeds, and it is said to him that the ajour is a bait for cows that they plant with the sheriff or with the pods, and the attractive box on the bottom of the reeds is fuel, and that love is saved and does not change for several years and so on.
The Yemenis chose most of their strength to be corn in all its varieties, which outnumbered twenty-five, for some of them.
They agree with the rainy seasons, including that he benefits from it when it is about an inch long she feeds the cows and the length of their period until they are hit and harvested, including
She is very patient with the shrimp that stays the month and increases without rain, then it emits a strong pill and is better than before, if it was too much rain, and on the climate in Ibb and Wafani province, one of my colleagues (Ibrahim Muhammad Ali Othman) specializes in geography, and this testimony is considered a scientific one that we can benefit from:
The governorate of Ibb is considered one of the most prolific regions of Yemen, because it faces the southwest monsoon loaded with water vapor, which is the main reason for most of the rain in Yemen during the spring, summer and autumn seasons, and these winds are originally south-easterly and come from the Indian Ocean, but when they cross the equator they change Its direction is southwesterly, when those winds reach the mountainous heights (Jebel Baadan), they rise to the top and are subjected to condensation as a result of the low temperature in the upper layers of the atmosphere, and then rain falls on these areas. Most of the rain from the southwest monsoon falls on the western mountains of Yemen
(It is Ibb governorate) then those winds turn to the north and northeast, then the winds reach them, and their loads of rain have been emptied, because these areas - the north and the northeast - are located in the so-called rain shadow.
With this we come to proverbs of farmers about weather forecasts.
Among the sayings of Ali bin Zayed:
The high winds of the autumn
And the summer is east of Hilala or (Sakinah)
Wind: the blowing of the winds, the awali: the blowing of the westerly winds, the lunatic: the light or calm winds, meaning the autumn winds blow from the northwestern side, and rain clouds come from the eastern side.
While the winds of the summer season come from the southeast side, and the rain clouds come from the northwest or south side and flow towards the east.
As for the southern coasts in the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea, the winds will be south-easterly in winter, spring and summer, and southwest in the autumn, and the western coasts, so the winds will be southwesterly to the northeast, and the winds are strong and known as the Azib, and they are in the period from November to March and from May to September blowing in the opposite direction .
From the issue of Khawlan District, Sana'a Governorate:
O God, do not set the western aside
Our summer is not our eastern one
Makadim: i.e. the seasons with the direction of the winds, the meaning of God Almighty to make the eastern winds for the summer season and the western winds for the autumn rain season.
From the Quds area, Al-Mawaset District, Taiz Governorate:
O God, make the western our first dish
And the east is for us in the autumn
The west of our summer: meaning the rainy clouds, and the eastern one in the autumn: the rainy clouds,
